Both our guest rooms are large and presented to you in a comfortable, attractive blend of modern luxury and period furnishings.
Beginning with the basis of a good night's sleep, our mattresses are new, pillow-topped, with quilted top protectors. Egyptian long staple cotton bed linens of the highest thread count, wrap bed and pillows. In October and May, we will still have the flannels on, because... it could be warm or it could be Canada...... Cotton quilts and alternative down duvets top each bed. In the morning, you'll find it hard to believe that these beds, all more than 80 years old, have given you such a comfortable sleep.
Both Irwin and Patriquin have room darkening privacy blinds with lightweight curtains over them.
There is no central a/c in the cottage, but each room has two large screened windows with two fan inserts. We have found the lake breezes and these traditional fans more than sufficient for our southern Ontario summers. Besides cooling the rooms, the fans provide a subtle, unobtrusive white noise, perfect for sleeping. However, generally in mid-summer we have installed window a/c units in a window of each suite, as the traditional week of 2 of hot, humid southern Ontario summer "melt down" arrives.
Each rooms have plenty of overhead and reading lights and each have two stuffed bedroom chairs. In both closets are mini-fridges, a steam iron and small ironing board. Chargers for almost all devices are in place. Both rooms are wifi'd.
There's a mini-Keurig & I'll put fresh cream and milk will in each mini-fridge, with your choice of coffee or tea. There's also a mini-decanter of cream sherry & glasses for a nightcap, as well as wine glasses.

The pine panelled, lofted great room is at the heart of the cottage. Guests are welcome to enjoy the large flat screen tv or borrow a book from the library shelves. The original pine floor, sympathetically refinished, still shows the faded carpet shadows of the old threadbare oriental, now replaced by new & vintage persians. With the period antiques & art, books, comfortable seating.... you will enjoy a very calming atmosphere, with ceiling fans paddling out lake breezes.
The sunroom is available for our guests also, half of it devoted to a small tv room, with another large flat screen and comfy seating. The windows to the lake open to cool the room, with the help of the heavy wall mounted fan. There are 2 tables for our guests, for eating, working, reading..... looking out over the lawns to Lake Erie.
Wifi is available throughout the house and to most parts of the property. Please ask for the password. We seem to have just about every type of recharger, so if the device is dying - we can resusitate!
